Sonya G Gordon DVM, DVSc, DACVIM – Cardiology
Cardiology Lectures and Lab Instructor
Dr. Sonya Gordon received her DVM from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1994. She then completed a small animal internship at the Atlantic Veterinary College and returned to the Ontario Veterinary College where she completed an advanced degree in cardiology (DVSc) and her cardiology residency training. Dr.Gordon is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Cardiology and has been on faculty at Texas A&M Unversity since 1998. She is currently an Associate Professor and the cardiology residency program director. She was a lead investigator in the EPIC Clinical Trial, for which she received a 2017 CVM Outstanding Scientific Achievement Award. She has published original manuscripts, book chapters and a textbook. Dr. Gordon considers her home College Station, Texas where she shares her life with her husband, 4 dogs and 2 cats.
Tony Pease, DVM, MS, DACVR, – Diagnostic Ultrasound Lectures and Lab Instructor
Dr. Pease graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. He then interned in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Marion DuPont Equine Medical Center in Virginia followed by a Small Animal Internship at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Maitland Florida. After completing his residency in Diagnostic Imaging at Cornell University, Dr. Pease became an Assistant Professor at North Carolina for four years, then a tenured Associate Professor at Michigan State University for 9 years. Currently, he is the Chief Veterinary Medical Officer for WVC (Western Veterinary Conference). Tony has been the President of the American College of Veterinary Radiology and is also the North American Editor for the Equine Veterinary Journal. When not involved with veterinary medicine or teaching, Dr. Pease enjoys playing ice hockey as a goalie and training for triathlons.

Dr. Eric Lindquist, DMV, DABVP, Cert. IVUSS has provided high-volume mobile veterinary clinical sonography as a specialist in New Jersey since 2001, and is a three-time president of IVUSS. Founding SonoPath.com in 2007, Dr. Lindquist leads a team of boarded specialists who provide Educational Teleconsultation™ Services. He owns and manages two mobile ultrasound companies in New Jersey and Oregon. He has also developed the SonoPath Diagnostic Efficiency Protocol™ (SDEP™), an innovative instructional ultrasound technique used for full and efficient diagnostic scanning.
Nele Ondreka, DMV, Dipl. –ECVDI
Lab Instructor
A long-time member and supporter of IVUSS, Dr. Ondreka is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging and the Department Head of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Gießen Veterinary School in Germany. She is Founder & partner in DZG – a Consulting company in Hereditary Skeletal Diseases in Small Animals, a partner in Sonopath Teleradiology, founder and partner in VetRad – a Telemedicine, Education and Consulting company, and a Board Member of the German Hip & Elbow Dysplasia Council (GRSK).

• Tips and tricks to get to the difficult abdominal organs–focusing on the intercostal approach to evaluate the portal vein and multiple ways to find and image the pancreas and adrenal glands.
• Going beyond Gain and Focal Spot–the use of cross-beam, harmonics, extended view, contrast medium, elastography and 3D imaging. Contrast Medium Ultrasound and Elastography.
• Contrast Medium Ultrasound and Elastography – Do I need it?–where the research is on these two new procedures and if they are worth the upgrade in your practice.
• Advanced Imaging, Including Doppler–the use of Doppler ultrasound in the abdomen for portosystemic shunts as well as ocular ultrasound, neck ultrasound and non-cardiac thoracic ultrasound to make sure you are getting the most out of your machine
• Abdominal Ultrasound Cases–common and uncommon pathology that is seen, taking you through the thought process of how to try to develop differential diagnoses and also where to look when you see the initial abnormality.
